The Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC) has been praised for its remarkable commitment to providing enabling environment for the growth of telecommunication in Nigeria and importantly for its exceptional performance in protecting the rights of telecom consumers.
Professor Fatima Sawa, Provost of the Federal College of Horticulture, Gombe stated this today when she led top Management of the institution to NCC Head Office to thank the Commission for its efforts in supporting tertiary institutions in Nigeria to bridge the gap in digital education.

Prof. Umar Danbatta, the Executive Vice Chairman and Chief Executive (EVC/CE) of the Nigerian Communications Commission, NCC, has said using non-type approved handsets and other devices has implications for quality of telecom services and that explains why the Commission carries out type approval tests on communication equipment and issues certificates based on the technical specifications and standards prescribed by the Commission.

The denouement to the 2019 awareness campaign organised by NCC on fraudulently activated SIM cards took place in Gombe recently at a one-day workshop thematized on the dangers of improperly activated SIM cards.
Babatunde Akpeji, Special Assistant to the Executive Commissioner Stakeholder Management, Sunday Dare, who represented his principal at the Maidugu Guest Palace Hotel, Gombe venue of the event, stated that every registered SIM Card must be traceable to a specific registration agent as the Commission still receives reports on the existence of pre-registered SIM cards.

Consistent with its policy on educational visits to its facilities, the Nigerian Communications Commission’s (NCC) this afternoon hosted students from three institutions.
The students are from University of Dutsin-Ma, Katsina State; Minna Institute of Technology and Innovation, Niger State; and University of Mkar, Benue State.
