The following are the Public Notices issued by the Nigerian Communications Commission. By the publication of these notices in print, broadcast or online, the Commission seeks to inform the public of developments and upcoming actions relating to its activites and the Nigerian telecommunications industry.

The President and Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, hereby makes the following Presidential Order for the Designation and Protection of Critical National Information Infrastructure (CNII).
The objectives of this Order are to;
- designate certain Information and Communications Technology systems (ICT), networks and infrastructure operating in Nigeria, as Critical National Information Infrastructure (CNII)
- develop cohesive measures and strategies for the security and of CNII, and ensure their continued operation;
- adopt proactive and holistic approach in the identification, security and protection of CNII;
- reduce to the barest minimum, incidences capable of damaging, disrupting, or interfering with the operation, functionality, or integrity of CNII; and
- ensure the effective functioning of ICT systems, networks, and infrastructure, which are critical to driving national imperatives, economic development, national security and defense, public health and and government operations.

The Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC) hereby notifies all Network Operators and Service Providers that the Guidelines on Disaster Recovery, 2023 is operative and that every Licensee must develop and submit a Disaster Recovery Plan (DRP) in line with Schedule 2, Paragraph 1.9 of the Guidelines.
The Guidelines requires that all licensees’ applications should be accompanied with a Draft DRP.
In furtherance of the above, the Commission has developed a Checklist to guide in drafting of the DRP in compliance with the provisions of the Guidelines. The Guidelines and Checklist have been published on the website of the Commission and can be accessed at the website of the NCC i.e. https://www.ncc.gov.ng. Please ensure you avail yourselves of the Checklist for guidance and necessary compliance.

There should be strict compliance to the content of this Notice as the Commission will not hesitate to exercise its enforcement powers as entrenched in the Nigerian Communications Act, 2003 and all other relevant Regulations, for non-compliance with same.
