Professor Umar Danbatta, the EVC/CEO of the Nigerian Communications Commission, NCC, this morning fulfilled a pledge it made last year by presenting laptop computers to Nigerian Women in Information Technology (NWIIT) for onward delivery to the finalists of an ICT/Cybercrime Competition for Secondary School Girls, organised by NWIIT.
The computers were received by Dr. Florence Babalola, National President of NWIIT, from Mr. Tony Ojobo, Director Public Affairs NCC, who made the presentation on behalf of the EVC.

The Executive Vice Chairman and CEO of the Nigerian Communications Commission, NCC, Professor Umar Danbatta said the notion of cyber security and protection of privacy rights under the cyber law is a journey and not a destination, and therefore called on all stakeholders to make Nigeria to move faster and steadily in the journey.
Danbatta stated this while contributing as a panelist at the ongoing Nigerian Bar Association (NBA) Annual General Conference (AGC) in Lagos, in a paper titled: THE BUSINESS OF CYBER LAW, INTERNET POLICY AND PRIVACY RIGHTS.

While Prof. Umar Danbatta, the CEO of NCC, was meeting with Muhammed Bello, Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), yesterday, to develop a collaborative partnership for improving provision of telecom services in the FCT, the leadership of the Northern Youth Council of Nigeria (NYCN) visited NCC Head Office to convey Danbatta's nomination as the next recipient of the Sir Ahmadu Bello Platinum Leadership Award.
Abubakar Mohammed, Vice President of NYCN who led the delegation of representatives of NYCN from the 19 Northern States and the FCT to inform Danbatta of his nomination said the Council shares the vision of ONE PEOPLE, ONE COMMON DESTINY devoid of ethnicity, religious intolerance and sectionalism.

Professor Umar Danbatta, the Executive Vice Chairman and CEO of Nigerian Communications Commission, yesterday paid a scheduled visit to the Minister of Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Mallam Muhammed Bello to seek strategic collaboration and partnership and to reiterate measures to be taken to bolster quality of telecom service in the FCT.
Danbatta who started his speech by thanking the Honourable Minister for time and reception accorded his team, quickly proceeded to capture the challenges to the provision of robust and qualitative telecom services in the FCT bemoaning the inadequacy of telecom infrastructure in the Territory.

The Executive Vice Chairman and CEO of the Nigerian Communications Commission, NCC, Professor Umar Danbatta, this morning at the Lekan Salami Stadium, Adamasingba, Ibadan said the Nigerian Communications Commission is exceedingly happy with responses from tennis enthusiasts and all Nigerians to the NCC Tennis League.
Speaking through Mrs. Iyabode Solanke, NCC's Director of Research and Development, who led Commission's delegation to Ibadan on his behalf, Danbatta said the objective of the tennis tournament is to capture the beauty in the energy of the Nigerian youth for values more edifying to the nation such as sports.
