Director Public Affairs at the Nigerian Communications Commission, NCC, Tony Ojobo, was yesterday honoured with a distinguished Fellowship Award by the African Festival of Art and Culture, AFAC.
A delegation lead by the Director General of AFAC, Mr. Joseph Ibe, presented the award to Ojobo at the NCC Head Office in Abuja.

The geography of the trove of awards received by individual staff and NCC as a corporate entity expanded again few hours ago as the Executive Vice Chairman/CEO of the Nigerian Communications Commission, Prof. Umar Danbatta received the Telecom Man of the Year Award at the Nigeria Tech Innovation and Telecom Awards ongoing in Lagos. The NCC also received the "Consumer Initiative Project of the Year Award" and the "Regulator of the Year Award".

The Executive Commissioner Stakeholder Management of the Nigerian Communications Commission, NCC, Mr. Sunday Dare last night received Democracy Heroes Award for his decades of consistency in promoting democracy in Nigeria.
Organisers of the event, FACE OF DEMOCRACY NIGERIA (FDN), now in its fifth year said Mr. Dare has acted in manners worthy of emulation by Nigerian youths. Therefore, they urged young people to step out to participate in the democratic process by contesting elections in order to represent the people of Nigeria conscientiously.

Her Majesty, Queen Maxima of the Kingdom of The Netherlands, this morning paid a scheduled visit to the Nigerian Communications Commission, NCC, as part of her global itinerary for advocacy on financial inclusiveness to enhance individual and national development. She commended NCC’s robust regulation of telecommunication services in Nigeria, its collaboration on national financial inclusion strategy, and promised to support Nigeria to achieve greater safe, sound and sustainable financial inclusion.
The royal lady, who visited the Commission in her capacity as the Special Advocate of the United Nations’ Secretary General for Inclusive Finance for Development, was received with NCC’s renowned warmth and enthusiasm by the Executive Vice Chairman of the Commission, Professor Umar Danbatta, who led other Management staff that include the Executive Commissioner Stakeholder Management, Mr. Sunday Dare.
