The Nigerian Communications Commission, NCC, hosted a 3-Day summit of Strategy Focal Persons, otherwise called CHANGE CHAMPIONS at Keffi, Nasarawa State.
Convened annually by the Corporate Planning and Strategy Department of the Commission, the Summit is an assemblage of representatives of all departments in the Commission, who in addition to their core responsibilities work with their colleagues under the superintendency of Directors/Heads of Departments to oversee the implementation of Corporate Strategy to ensure adherence to policy and processes, as well as the success of the Strategic Management Plan 2014-2018 and other extant policies of the Commission.
Mr. Sunday Dare, the Executive Commissioner Stakeholder Management, who represented the Executive Vice Chairman/CEO of NCC, Prof. Umar Danbatta, recalled the accomplishments of the Commission especially in sustaining growth of the economy despite the attendant challenges of telecommunication service provision. He enjoined staff not to be complacent on their oars because of centrality of telecommunication to the growth of all sectors of the economy.

The Executive Vice Chairman of the Nigerian Communications Commission, NCC, Professor Umar Danbatta, says "government should introduce Public Service Excellence Award for MDAs that excel in all spheres of their operations in order to increase productivity and efficiency". Such initiative, will be good incentives for the Public Sector which is under increasing pressure to demonstrate that its operations are consumer-centric and there is continuous improvement in performance.
Danbatta made this advocacy at Arewa House this morning in a paper titled EVALUATING THE FRAMEWORK FOR MEASURING THE QUALITY OF SERVICE DELIVERY IN THE PUBLIC SECTOR, which was presented on his behalf by Ubale Maska, NCC's Executive Commissioner Technical Services, at the National Stakeholders' Conference on Public Service Delivery in Nigeria.

The Nigerian Communications Commission, NCC, earlier today hosted a broad spectrum of telecom consumers, operators and an array of other stakeholders for the 80th Edition of the Telecom Consumer Parliament (TCP) at the Shehu Musa Yar’Adua Centre, Abuja.
Prof. Umar Danbatta, NCC’s Executive Vice Chairman/Chief Executive Officer, represented by Mr. Sunday Dare, Executive Commissioner, Stakeholder Management, NCC, recalled the basis for the institutionalization of the TCP of NCC’s consumer-centric stance, which the declaration of 2017 as Year of the Nigerian Telecom Consumer has come to underscore.
