The Executive Vice Chairman/CEO, Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC), Professor Umar Garba Danbatta today paid host to the Commandant of the Nigerian Defence Academy at the Commission’s Head Office.
The Commandant of the Nigerian Defence Academy, Major General Adeniyi Oyebade who led the delegation noted in his opening remarks that “The Nigerian Defence Academy is an institution that trains young men and women as future leaders of the armed forces and one of the key mandate is to have officers who are technologically sound, ICT sound, to deal with the future battle of cyber space”.

The Executive Vice Chairman of Nigerian Communications Commission, Professor Umar Garba Danbatta received a delegation from Nigerian Society of Engineers on August 29, 2018.
The President of Nigerian Society of Engineers, Engineer Adekunle Mokuolu who led the delegation stated in his opening remarks that their visit today “underscores the significant value that the leadership of our Society places on the Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC), not only as a regulator of an important sector in Nigeria, but also a major corporate stakeholder in the scheme of governance in the communications sector of our dear nation”.

How to strengthen human capacity profile in the African region was the fulcrum of the International Telecommunications Union (ITU) yearly regional workshop which opened in Abuja today.
Organized by the Digital Bridge Institute (DBI), the training arm of the Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC), Executive Vice Chairman (EVC) of NCC, Professor Umar Garba Danbatta who declared the workshop open, said that results the NCC expects at the workshop will include recommendations that will target elements of the digital ecosystem, namely, enabling policies and institutions for ICT growth, institutional change for more impact in the ICT Industry, and recommendations for the right communications and broadband infrastructure to improve internet access, speed and volume.
