The Executive Vice Chairman and Chief Executive (EVC/CE) of the Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC), Prof. Umar Danbatta, yesterday (7/12/2019) received, THE PUBLIC SERVANT OF THE YEAR Award at an impressively attended event.
Danbatta was conferred with the award at the Fifth Henna Ball and Award Night, organised by Tozali Magazine and Television, which took place at the International Conference Centre, Abuja. The award was received on Danbatta's behalf by Omoniyi Ibietan, the Commission's Head of Online Media and Special Publication.

As part of its determination to heighten the implementation of Service Compact with All Nigerians (SERVICOM) Charter, in all aspects of its operations, the Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC) yesterday (04/12/2019) commenced a three-day workshop for Charter optimisation and improved service delivery.
The workshop, organised by Public Affairs Department (PAD), in collaboration with Messrs Aktiva Consulting, is part of the processes instituted by the Commission to ensure continuous orientation of members of the SERVICOM Networking Committee in NCC which comprises representatives of all departments in the Commission.

The Port Harcourt Zonal Office (PHZO) of the Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC) recently embarked on another sensitisation by roadshow in Rivers State, focused on consumer rights and privileges as well as consumer obligations in the telecommunications industry.
The Zonal Office took the roadshow to telecoms consumers in Old GRA, Ogbunabali and the popular GSM Village at Garrison, Port Harcourt.
Speaking during the roadshow, the Controller of NCC PHZO, Venny Eze-Nwabufoh, who led the sensitisation campaign, said the programme was aimed at deepening consumer awareness in terms of their rights as telecoms consumers and keeping them aware of initiatives by the Commission to protect and empower them.

The Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC) has said that the 622 Toll-Free Line created by the NCC for complaints management serves as a second level of complaint for telecom consumers who had earlier complained about services to their service providers and need to escalate the issue.
Aliyu Ibrahim, Head, Consumer Protection and Advocacy at NCC, stated this at the maiden edition of National Advertising Conference organised by the Adverstising Practitioners Council of Nigeria (APCON), held on 27th November, 2019 at the Transcorp Hotel.
