The Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC) has emerged the best public sector regulatory organisation as it receives the ‘2019 Outstanding Regulator of the Year Award’ at this year’s edition of Independent Awards.
The award was presented to the Commission at a colourful ceremony held on Friday (07/03/2020) at the Eko Hotels & Suites, Victoria Island, Lagos.

The Industry Consumer Advisory Forum (ICAF) has advocated the need for stakeholders at the federal, state and local levels, both in public and private sectors, to work with the Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC) and Mobile Network Operators (MNOs) to collectively contribute towards improving the Quality of Service (QoS) delivery by MNOs in the country.
The advocacy group stated this during a presentation made at its first quarter 2020 neeting held in Abuja on Thursday (05/03/2020).

“By our records, all improperly-registered Subscriber Identification Module (SIM) cards across Mobile Network Operators (MNOs) in Nigeria have been completely deactivated,” the Executive Vice Chairman (EVC) of the Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC), Prof. Umar Garba Danbatta, has said.
The Commission’s efforts in this regard is in line with one of the key agenda of President Muhammadu Buhari to strengthen security of lives and property for all Nigerians.

With consumers’ interest and how they could get better quality of services as its focal point, Executive Vice Chairman (EVC) of the Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC), Prof. Umar Garba Danbatta, has said the Commission will abide by all the tenets of consumer rights in its day-to-day activities.
The EVC’s statement underpins activities of the regulatory agency, which has manifest oversight functions over the various network operators in Nigeria, as Nigeria joins the rest of the global community to mark the World Consumer’s Right Day (WCRD) on March 15, 2020.

The Lagos Chamber of Commerce and Industry (LCCI), has sought the partnership and collaboration of the Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC) for the successful hosting of this year's edition of the Information Communication Technology and Telecommunications (ICTEL) Expo.
The request was made by Leye Kupoluyi, LCCI Vice President, when he led a delegation of the Chamber to the Commission on a courtesy visit. The delegation led by Kupoluyi was received at the Communications and Digital Economy Complex Building, Mbora, Abuja at the weekend.
