Governor Obaseki expressed appreciation for the warm reception accorded him and, stated that his visit is to familiarize and seek collaborative partnership with the Commission to deploy ICT and broadband penetration in his state.
He expressed assurances to work with the Commission and all other relevant stakeholders of the industry and support the Service Providers extend services to the remotest towns and communities.
Governor Obaseki stated that the key to development is in ICT, Technology and provision of telecoms infrastructure; he therefore, promised the Commission of his support to address the challenges of the industry ranging from right of way, multiple taxation and regulation and community resistance to allow Operators the freedom to deploy infrastructure and services within safety and compliance regulations.
He further stated that part of his vision for the state is engaging the youths in productive ventures and providing employment opportunities for them so that they do not engage in illicit businesses such as human and drug trafficking.
