Representatives of the Nigerian Communications Commission, NCC, this evening joined accomplished private entrepreneurs and other public sector agencies in Nigeria to showcase the nation's investment potential at the Transcorp Hilton Hotel, Abuja.
The occasion was a business dinner organised by the Nigerian Investment Promotion Commission and the Federal Ministry of Industry, Trade and Investment, in partnership US Embassy in Nigeria and the US Department of Commerce and hosted on the sidelines of the Nigeria-USA Bi-National Commission programmes which commenced earlier this morning.
Mr. Tony Ojobo, Director Public Affairs NCC, represented the Executive Vice Chairman/CEO of NCC, Prof. Umar Danbatta at the event where Dr. Okechukwu Enelamah, Minister of Industry, Trade and Investments prefaced discussions with the Federal Government's efforts at charting the nation's economy from recession and the objectives of Nigeria's medium term Economic programme - the Economic Recovery and Growth Plan (ERGP). He stated that the programme holds great promise for rebuilding the economy and enhancing investment in the people.
His Excellency John J. Sullivan, Deputy Secretary of State, who led the US delegation to Nigeria, praised the Federal government for the series of initiatives instituted and noted that earlier in the day the delegation had met government representatives and reflected fruitfully on mutually beneficial economic relationship, addressing terrorism as well as human rights issues. Thus suggesting that the US looks forward to a more cordial commercial relationship with Nigeria in future.
