The Nigerian Advancement Awards, an organisation that prides in identifying with achievers to celebrate their successes, yesterday honoured the Executive Vice Chairman of NCC, Professor Umar Danbatta, with the “Integrity in Public Service” Award.
The award was conferred during the 5th Edition of the annual Nigerian Advancement Awards ceremonies which took place at the International Conference Centre, Abuja under the theme: Strengthening our Democratic Framework - The Roles of the Government, Institutions and Citizens.
Professor Danbatta who was described by the awarding body as a catalyst for national development, was honoured alongside nine (9) other recipients from both the Public and Private Sector organizations in Nigeria.
To arrive at this decision, the Organizer said it sampled 200 entries and came up with only 10 personalities worthy of the award based on some on criteria which include ambition tied to vision; clear and definite purpose; self-responsiveness; value driven; and commitment to excellence.
Danbatta was represented at the award ceremony by Reuben Muoka, NCC's Head of Public Relations, who expressed Commission's appreciation of the gesture and stated that the award will spur NCC to aim for greater heights in the performance of its responsibilities.
